We all need a hill!

When I go for my regular walks along the river pathways, I am always ready to chat with anyone with whom I can initiate a conversation.  It ain’t the easiest thing to do, however. Except on the hill!

To ‘be myself’, why do I end up ‘by myself’?

I just gotta add a few more words, even repetitious ones, about this whole ‘be yourself’ phenomenon. My intention isn’t to be quick with the answers, but to pump in more questions!

It is common to look at music icons, actresses, rock concerts, space travel, etc. and suggest these folks were ‘being themselves’.  Are they?

Maybe. But that cannot be determined without a deep and personal conversation with them. You see, ‘being yourself’ may not be about what your skills are at all, but about what drives those skills!

Is anyone ‘real’-ly out there?

Sitting in the Convention Centre in another city last week, while 300 excited high school grads, including my grandson, were celebrating their ‘rite of passage,’ I was struck by some of the words of the valedictorian who encouraged fellow classmates to ‘be unique’ and to ‘be yourselves’.

Very interesting little phrase, isn’t it, when you really think about it, to……‘be yourself’.
